Blood Pressure is the force exerted against the bloods vessel walls when the heart pumps . It is a clue to the health of the heart and blood vessels. High Blood pressure ,sometimes called Hypertension ,is a condition in which blood is exerting too much pressure on the walls of the blood vessels. If this condition is not controlled, it can lead to stroke , kidney failure , heart attack or heart failure.

There are usually no symptoms that alert a person they have high blood pressure . The only way to positively know is to have your blood pressure checked . The American Red Cross offers blood pressure screenings to alert you if you are at risk . If you do have high blood pressure, please consult your doctor.
